Been a while......

Howdy! I know it has been a while since I have posted. I got out of the habit and haven't gotten back in yet. I have made it a resolution to try to blog more and maybe this will help me get some things off my chest that I can't talk to anyone else about it. Here I can type anything that is on my mind and no one really cares. This will be just a place for me to get things out there. No one in my family that I know of reads this so this blog is my only haven to which I can lay my heart out on my sleeve.

I said the word resolution above and I don't usually do resolutions because they are just like everyone elses. Lose weight and get debt under control. But this year is different. I am going to state a few and then try my hardest to stick to them.

Here goes...........
  • try to lose 5 pounds a month
  • try to save money up for an emergency (or vacation, which to me is one in the same)
  • read and study the Bible everyday
  • not be infront of the computer so much
  • try to blog atleast every other day
So there it is. What do you think is it do-able?

Good morning!!!

I know I haven't been around much here lately and I am sorry for that. I belong to a website called Cafemom and in that site there is such nice people from all walks of life. In Cafemom is a group called Cafemom Street Team. It is a group for moms that make anything handmade and sell it online at any type of venue (Etsy, Artfire, and many more handmade sites). Every other Monday there is a feature on a member of that group and this week it is Caprice Creations.
Here is her shop on Etsy, Here is her shop on Artfire, and she has another shop too on Etsy here.
She is a very nice lady and is very talented at whatever she does.

So go check her out and support a Handmade MOMMY!!!!!

Girls and their do's

The girls have been begging for a "fancy do" for church so I finally dug around on some of my favorite hair blogs and found how to do the rag curls. Well the oldest has really thick hair and I couldn't get it to do it no matter how little or big of a section I took. So I resorted to braiding her hair. I didn't think she was going to like it but she was so proud and happy that she had wavy hair.
I braided hers right after taking a shower and then she slept on them and I took them out the next morning for church.

She got so many compliments on how pretty she looked. I think she was literally floating on air!!!

The little one was so excited she was going to have curly hair. LOL she didn't want to sleep in them she wanted to take them out right then to see the curl. She liked that her hair was wiggly with the rags in it.

I was totally not expecting to see this the next morning. I knew it would be curly but not KINKY! Holy cow!!!!

She loved having curly hair. She kept touching it and saying she was "curry Shurry" (curly shirley). She pranced all day long because of her "bouncies".

Next time I do this it will be the foam curlers. I had my hands cramping so bad after this that they were sore the next day. I will curl their hair more often because they just glowed when they seen themselves in the mirror after I got done.

I was cruising around the net and look what I found!!!

Follow this link to some awesome pics of things to do with a One Dollar Bill (or 2).

Enjoy!!

Changes are happening......

There have been and will be changes going on around my house. We are getting very tight on money and we don't know how we are going to pay next months bills. It won't pay for me to go to work and hire a baby sitter for the kids because paying the baby sitter will be all I will be working for. I just hope something gives and gives in a good way. It looks like for now we are going to have to sell anything that we don't absolutely need. Dh is going to try to sell his tractor and the big lawn mower, and maybe some of his stuff off of his welding truck. We are at our ends of trying to get things to work and nothing is working. We are seriously thinking about going for credit counseling and seeing if we could do any better through a consolidation company or something. We don't want to file bankruptcy but if nothing else works then that is our only option.

We may have to cut off internet, tv and anything else that we can't afford. So not happy right now.
I have tried so hard to surrender to God and let Him have control but that is so hard. I know that He is watching over us and will not give us more than we can handle but man oh man!

Sorry just a little rant rave. DH and I have cussed and discussed all this and we don't want anyone in our family to know about it but I need to talk to someone and writing about it here sure helps.

On another note I am working on some crocheted stuff that I hope to have up in the next few weeks and hope to start selling things too. I know me selling my crochet stuff isn't going to make a difference in anything but it will help my self esteem more than you will ever know.

Well of to do more thinking, praying and crocheting!!!

The girls had VBS a few weeks ago

During the week of June 29 the kids had their Vacation Bible School at church. They absolutely loved it!!! I volunteered as a helper and got to help with my kids class. Boy howdy!!! That was a handful!! We averaged about 16 kids, all 5 yrs old or younger, all week long. I very good lesson I learned that when you get that many together, there is no telling what is going to be said. LOL I got a kick out of just listening to the kids talk to each other and to me and their teacher. Of course they loved to talk about the stories of Jesus and what all "magic" Jesus could do. Like walk on water and not sink like a rock(as told by a 4 yr old). Then he was able to wave his Magic wand over the food and feed 5,000 people out of just a couple loaves of bread and fish.

The theme for VBS was Boomerang Express, It all comes back to Jesus!! They had all Australian things hanging on the wall, and posters about Austrailia. The kids all learned a few songs and the motions to the songs. I wish now I would have took my video camera and taped them. They all did so good and the songs were wonderful. Then after the program there was live Australian animals outside!!!!!

The kids singing their songs at the program.

My youngest eating watermelon(which she doesn't like). My oldest drinking her drink so fast that she got choked. They were so excited about the animals being outside that they just wolfed down their food(whether they like it or not! LOL).

A hedge hog

The snake. That thing had red eyes and it makes me shiver everytime I see the pic!!

The lemur. He was just a baby and he was so cute!

The snake again(shiver!!!!!!!) Oh yeah, and my oldest touched it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The giant turtle. The preacher had told them that they could ride the turtle so that is all my kids talked about all week long. But then when it came there turn,,,,,, they chickened out!!!!!!

The baby kangaroo!! He was inside a pouch and was loving everyone touching and petting him. The lady that was holding him told the crowd that when they are born they are no larger than a bumble bee and have NO hind legs!!!! I didn't know that!

The girls were pooped when they got home. So was I.
But it was so much fun!!!
My oldest came home and said to me "Isn't God awesome!! He can make all kinds of things like those animals and us!!!!" Bless her heart! I about cried when she told me that.

A little something different

My DH is a welder and has a hard time finding welding caps that fit him and in colors that he likes( like John Deere, and camo).
So............
He brought a new one home for me to tear apart and to try to make some for him. Well, I tried.

DH still has to try it on, but I do hope it fits.
And no he doesn't like pink or flowers. This material was just scraps that I had left over from when I made the girls dress's. He wouldn't be caught dead outside in this hat. ;)
